May Newsletter
It’s almost time! In four short weeks we will be holding our 19th Annual Recital! We have included lots of recital details in this newsletter, so please read it carefully. If you have any questions, please call or email ~ we want this to be a fun and stress-free event for everyone! Thanks so much for your continued support this year! The kids are working so hard and are getting so excited about their show. We can’t wait until recital!
Accounts
All accounts must be paid in full before your dancer will be allowed to participate in the recital. Recital fees and May tuition have been posted to your account. Your recital fee includes a trophy with your dancers name, 1 program book and your personal ad. If you sold ads you will see the amount you sold posted on your account instead of a recital fee.
Hair & Make-Up for Pictures & Recital
All dancers need to have their hair pulled up and away from their face – either a bun, ponytail, or with the sides pulled up. If your instructor has a preference she will let you know. Gym students do not need ponytails on the top of their heads – it hurts when they try to roll! It is also important for all dancers to wear make-up. The stage lights will wash their faces out unless they are wearing a little foundation, blush, eye-makeup & lipstick.
Costumes
We have started giving out costumes in class and will continue to as they arrive. Please don’t let your dancer play in their costume. We cannot replace lost or damaged costumes. If you have any problems with your costumes please notify the studio immediately. Kinderdance students will need a leotard of their choice for the gymnastics portion of the recital. Please check with your teacher to make sure you have the correct color shoes & tights before picture day. Dancers will wear their costumes for pictures, dress rehearsal & recital.
Summer Classes/Competition Teams
Attached to this note is our summer class schedule. Summer dance is a fun 8 weeks of dance, perfect for trying new styles of dance or just for keeping in shape! Current Star Struck students do not need to register for summer class ~ just let your teacher know that you will be coming. Please email Kelley for information about auditions for our award-winning competition teams. We’d love to see you in class this summer!
Getting Ready for Recital
We’d like to offer you the opportunity to video your child’s classes so you can help them get ready for the recital. Ms. Joelene’s & Ms. Cara’s parents can video the week of May 10-13 and Ms. Kelley’s parents can video on May 17th. Also, if you’d like a copy of your child’s class music, please bring a black cd labeled with your child’s name and class time and we’ll be happy to make a copy for you. We want all of our dancer’s to be confident and prepared for the show!
Recital DVD’s
You can now preorder your copy of the 2010 Star Struck Recital. Order forms are available at the studio. Please include payment in full with your order. Remember – video cameras are not allowed in the auditorium during the recital.
Recital Group & Individual Pictures
Recital pictures will be made at the studio on Wed. May 19th and Thurs. May 20th. We request that all students come to have group pictures made since they will be displayed at the studio. You are not required to purchase any pictures. Use the schedule below for group picture times. Individual pictures will be made either before or after your group picture time. Dancer should be dressed in full costume with appropriate hair & make-up. Pictures must be ordered and paid for on picture day.
Group pictures will be taken at the time listed, so please don’t be late!
