February Newsletter

Even though it’s only February, our thoughts are already on our 21^st Annual Spring Recital.  We’ve included all of the information you’ll need about the show.  If you have any questions, please let us know.  The dancers are working really hard and we have planned a fantastic show!  We hope you are as excited as we are!

 Location – James W. Warren Citizens Center – 115 W. Main St. Lincolnton

 Schedule –

**All rehearsals and recitals will be held at the Citizens Center

 Friday, June 15^th

12:00-5:00     Rehearsal for competition dancers

5:30-7:00       Dress rehearsal begins for Tuesday & Wednesday kinderdance & kindergym classes

6:30-8:00       Dress rehearsal begins for Thursday kindergarten & 1^st grade classes

7:00-8:30       Dress rehearsal begins for Monday 2^nd-4^th grade classes

8:00-9:00       Dress rehearsal begins for Monday 5^th-8^th grade classes

 Saturday, June 16^th

11:00 – Doors open

12:00 – Show for recital classes

4:00 – Show for solos/duets/trios

5:30 – Show for competition groups

Pictures

Recital group & individual pictures will be made at the studio the week of June 4^th – 7^th.  We ask that all dancers come for the group pictures so we will have one to display at the studio.  You are not obligated to purchase any pictures.  A schedule and price sheet will be sent home in May. 

 Costumes

Your second costume payment has been added to your February statement.  The final payment will be billed to you in April.  We ask that all costumes be paid for by April so that they can be handed out in class. 

 Make-Up Classes

All classes missed due to bad weather will be made up before the recital.  Each instructor will schedule their own make-up classes.  Since classes will be made-up before the recital, monthly tuition will not be affected by classes missed for bad weather.  Notification will be sent out via email if the studio will be closed for bad weather.

 Recital Fee

All dancers will be charged a $60 recital fee that will be added to your account in May.  We don’t charge admission to watch the recital, so this fee helps us cover the cost of the auditorium, sets, personnel, trophies, programs books, etc.  As a part of your recital fee each dancer will receive a ¼ page ad in the recital program book, a trophy with the dancers name and a recital program book.  You may also sell $60 in ads to pay for your recital fee.  You can sell ads to businesses, family and friends ~ anybody that wants to wish your dancer the best! 

 Ad Sale

SSDS puts together an awesome program book for our recital!  If is a great keepsake and it also helps to raise money for the recital so we can put on a terrific show!  The dancer who has the highest total money in ad sales will receive a years’ free tuition! 

 Cost for the ads –

Business card 1/8 page - $20

¼ page - $40

½ page - $60

Full page - $100

   All ads must be camera ready.  If you turn in a hand-written ad it will be printed that way.  All ads are due by Thursday, April 27^th.  You may turn in ads as you collect them and we will keep a running total for you.  There are sample program books available at the studio.  If you have any questions about the ad sale, please call or email and we will be happy to help you!
