Spring is here and the recital is only 11 weeks away!  Things are really getting busy at the studio and we are all so excited about this year’s show.  We know you are going to enjoy it!  This letter should answer any questions you have now concerning the recital.  If you have any other questions, please don’t hesitate to call or email.  We’re always here to help!

 

Spring Break

The studio will be closed April 9th – 14th for Spring Break.  We hope you enjoy your week off!

 

Costumes

We will begin handing out costumes in class the week after Spring Break.  Please do not let your dancer play in their recital costumes.  We cannot replace lost or damaged costumes.  We have a seamstress on staff to help with costumes that don’t fit just right, so please let us know if there is a problem.  Your costumes must be paid for in full before you can pick them up.  Costume balances are noted on your April statement.  Please remember to check your class poster so you’ll have the correct color shoes and tights for each dance. 

 

Recital Pictures

Recital group and individual pictures will be taken at the studio June 4th-7th.  We like to have all of the dancers in the group shot even if you don’t plan on purchasing pictures.  You will need to pay for your pictures when they are taken if you want to order group and/or individual packages.  A day & time schedule for pictures will be sent out in May.

 

Backstage

Dancer’s must remain backstage during the recital, so we depend on parent volunteers to help us with the classes backstage.  If you are interested in being a “backstage mom”, please put your name on the sign-up sheet in the lobby.  Backstage helpers will be able to go into the auditorium to watch their child’s performance, but will need to stay backstage with the group for the rest of the show.  Kinderdance students will be allowed to go with their parents at intermission to sit in the auditorium until award time. 

 

Dress Rehearsal

We stagger the rehearsal times so that you won’t have to be at the auditorium all evening.  Please be on time and dressed in your first costume for dress rehearsal.  More detailed information will be sent out closer to recital time so you’ll know what order your routines will be in.  Dress rehearsal is on Friday, June 15th at the James W. Warren Citizens Center in downtown Lincolnton. 

 

12:00-5:00     Rehearsal for competition dancers (no costumes)

5:30-7:00       Dress rehearsal begins for Tuesday & Wednesday kinderdance & kindergym classes

6:30-8:00       Dress rehearsal begins for Thursday kindergarten & 1st grade classes

7:00-8:30       Dress rehearsal begins for Monday 2nd-4th grade classes

8:00-9:00       Dress rehearsal begins for Monday 5th-8th grade classes

 

Recital Day

Our 21st Annual Recital will be held at the James W. Warren Citizens Center in downtown Lincolnton.  We have 3 separate show times for our recital, with an awards ceremony at the end of each show.  All dancers will receive a trophy at the recital

11:00              Doors Open

12:00              Show for recital classes (awards will be handed out at the end of this show)

4:00                Show for solos, duets & trios

5:30                Show for competition teams (awards will be handed out at the end of this show)

 

Program Book Ads & Recital Fees

Every dancer is charged a $60 recital fee.  This fee includes a ¼ page personal ad in our program book.  These ads are due at the studio no later than Monday, April 30th.   If you sell at least $60 in ads for the program book you will not be charged a recital fee.  Remember, the dancer who has the highest total sales will receive a year of dance tuition for free!  The second place ad seller gets a 50% tuition discount for next year and third place gets a 25% tuition discount.  Copies of last year’s recital program book are available at the studio for you to look at if you need ideas. 

 

Recital T-shirts

Each year we produce a recital t-shirt with the recital design and date on the front and all of the dancer’s names listed on the back.  If you want to order a t-shirt for your dancer, please fill out the order form below and put it in the tuition box along with payment in full by May 11th.  We don’t order extra shirts, so the only way to get one is to order now!  No orders will be accepted without an order form.
